On this page you can find a few more video projects from my past. You can see music videos featuring stop-motion and other experimental approaches to making things move around the screen. You can also see some of my earliest video projects showing both my introduction to advanced video editing tools, and even something I made using an analog video editor around 2001. Everything here is organized newest to oldest, so have fun on the reverse timeline.

Blarf - Run For Your Death

This was my submission for a contest to make a video for music off of the album Film Scores for Films That Don't Exist, by the band Blarf. I am not crazy about this kind of contest, but I did feel that I had an animation style that was fitting for the style of music. As of posting this, no winners have been announced, and I know many of the submissions were made by entire production teams, and I am just a guy who does some animating in his laundry room in his spare time, but sometimes Santa and the Easter Bunny are real and they bring you cool presents for being a nice good boy.

Soft Top - Ocean's Aside

Soft Top is a music project by a friend of mine. He asked me if I wanted to make a video for a song of his. The song felt like a haunted machine, somewhat like a Frankenstein's monster but a bit more abstract. So, this is the video that I made for it.

Expert Timing - Gravity

Gravity was my first larger project in animation. I had been doing mostly abstract experiments for a few months and my friend, Jeff, asked me if I would like to make a music video for his band. The song offered a lot of playful ideas that gave me instant ideas for a variety of vignettes that I could make in a few different, but similar styles. This project still makes me happy to look back on.

Here Comes Froby

This was another earlier dive into working with stop-motion. I tried making something that was part instructional and part entertainment.

Suburbs

This was essentially the project result of me learning how to use more advanced editing techniques. I wanted to make something that was visually compelling but also had a theme. It connects to some earlier visual work of mine where I was very interested in the pattern functions of a basic house shape.

Beck - Pressure Zone

I made this video in college as a way to practice using an analog video editing machine. I am glad technology has gotten easier than that, but I also wish I had access to that machine. It was satisfying to work with.
