Art Verbs

I meant for this to be a smaller project that would inform some larger ones, but the 4th grade students knocked it so far out of the park that I am feeling the need to share. After learning a bit about hand-lettering and trying out a few techniques, students were given the task to finish the statement "In Art Class we..." with a verb. The creative challenge in it was to design the word in such a way that it connects to the meaning of the word. I expected that kids who would get certain words to be able to do this (paint, glue, draw), but I thought some of the words were a huge hurdle, but they rose to the occasion and I couldn't be happier.
