The idea behind the Massive Multi-Make Maze is simple - teach a lot of people how to draw a maze, then using that knowledge, have a lot of people design one portion of a maze that can be connected to other sections, and finally connecting all of the sections together to create one massive maze that can be displayed physically as well as digitally.
Basic Steps
-
Learn how to draw a maze.
-
Create a maze using the template below so that the "start" and "finish" work as the connecting points to the other mazes.
-
Mail the maze to me.
-
I will connect it to the big maze, digitally and physically.
This is one of the simpler techniques that I teach people for drawing mazes. The example here is not very difficult, but it is a good place to start understanding how mazes can work.
This is a video tutorial I made for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. It covers a lot of different aspects of maze making.
In More detail:
-
Learn how to draw a maze. You can check out some of the guides I have here or find your own style and technique.
-
Download and print out a maze template. When printing, do not change the scale of the template at all.
-
Draw your maze so that the "start" and "finish" connect. Remember that it is important that your maze is solvable. All mazes will be tested to make sure they can work before they get attached to the larger maze.
-
Send me your maze. It is easiest to send me the physical maze in the mail, but it is not 100% necessary. If sending digitally, scan image in for best results. If you do not have a scanner, try a free scanner app for a smartphone. Digital files can be sent to: stayweirdartclub@gmail.com . If you want to send me the physical maze instead, you can mail mazes to: Ben Pawlowski 6945 E Kirkland Dr

I will compile all the mazes I receive into one bigger maze. I will provide digital versions of this huge maze, and perhaps some physical version can be put together in the future.
Additional Templates
Eventually, this maze will need to go in more directions than just straight. So, I have made templates that will help contributors to make maze "sections" that will allow the whole maze to move directions. I definitely need more straight sections for the whole maze, but some of these bends and twists will be helpful as well.
